It is important to check your credit report on a regular basis to ensure that all information held is correct. Your credit report is also an important indicator of any fraudulent activity.
For those who do check their report regularly, it is important to note that information does not automatically update and can take a while to be collated. It can take 4–6 weeks for credit reference agencies to be updated with any new information, so don't be surprised if you still see the debt you paid on your credit report a month later. This is also an important factor to consider when applying for a large loan or mortgage as you cannot expect your credit history to improve overnight.
Once information has been received by the credit reference agency (in this case, Callcredit) it can take a while to see this reflected on your account. Currently we receive the data for each customer, once a month from Callcredit. Therefore, while your live score may change to reflect your updated information, it may take longer to see this reflected on your report.
